  • Who should attend the Indiana School Food Summit?

The Summit is designed for school nutrition directors, frontline cafeteria teams, district administrators, and others working to strengthen school meal programs. Whether you are making decisions at the district level or preparing meals every day, there will be sessions built for your role.

  • Our district is not doing much scratch cooking yet. Is this still for us?

Absolutely. The Summit is designed for schools at all stages of cooking. Sessions will include practical ways to improve meals, strengthen operations, use equipment more effectively, and take realistic steps toward more scratch and speed-scratch cooking.

  • What will I actually take back to my district?

Expect practical ideas you can use right away, including recipes, production strategies, breakfast approaches, procurement ideas, and new ways to think about participation and meal quality.

  • What is A Longer Table?

A Longer Table is an Indianapolis nonprofit strengthening the systems behind school food. We help schools build the people, operations, menus, procurement, and infrastructure needed to serve better meals sustainably. Find out more at alongertable.org.

  • I want to attend, but the registration cost is a barrier. What should I do?

We want cost to be as little of a barrier as possible. If you or your district would like to attend but cannot cover the registration fee, please reach out to A Longer Table at events@alongertable.org to see if a scholarship is available.
